Want to Help Homeless Veterans in Lafayette Have a Merry Christmas?

Posted: Nov 8, 2011 10:56 AM by Kate Durio

The St. Michael's Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Lafayette needs your help to make their Christmas Wish come true.

The shelter doesn't have a Christmas tree they can use year to year and their wish is to get a 6 ft artificial tree for the shelter.

Dee Duhon, who is helping make the wish come true has flags and yellow ribbons for the tree already but is hoping residents of Acadiana would donate ornaments in patriotic colors of Red, White, and Blue for veterans to have to have a patriotic Christmas tree at the shelter. The shelter director would like to have the Veterans decorate the tree Thanksgiving Day in the afternoon, after Thanksgiving lunch.

To participate or donate in the decorations drive, please contact Dee Duhon at 337.351.4191 or Johnathan Linzar at St. Michael's Shelter for Homeless Veterans at 337.233.6816.
