St. Joseph Diner
St. Joseph Diner prepares and serves free lunch meals from 11:00 am - 11:50 am every day to anyone who is hungry. St. Joseph Diner only requires that individuals seeking a meal treat each other, volunteers and staff with respect and dignity. Emergency food boxes are distributed to individuals in crisis who are accessing an emergency pantry for the first time. Visit the Volunteer Calendar to choose a day to come in and experience St. Joseph Diner.
In 2012 St. Joseph Diner built a fruit and vegetable garden. The garden supplies St. Joseph Diner with nutritious, organic produce year round, which is used to prepare healthy meals for the hungry. In addition to providing cost-effective fresh ingredients, the garden offers an opportunity for hands-on learning with community volunteers.
In 2014, St. Joseph Diner partnered with St. Bernadette Clinic to provide healthy meals and nutrition education to create a structure of health living for the most vulnerable in our community. This partnership allows a holistic approach to care. The homeless, shelter residents and clinic patients will have access to nutritious meals to help curtail the effects of chronic diseases and visits with a dietician and healthcare team to improve overall health outcomes. St. Bernadette’s provides a full time cook and clinical dietician and assists with the preparation of nutritious meals for St. Joseph Diner
